Harriet L. Nelson, 85, formerly of Park Ridge, died in Peoria on Wednesday, February 11, 2004, at 4:45 p.m. Born March 30, 1918 in Chicago, a daughter of Frederick and May Mallory Lohman; she married Edward A. Nelson on February 10, 1940 in Chicago. He died in Park Ridge, IL on April 6, 1996. Surviving are three sons, Thomas (Judy) of Dunlap, William (Karen) of Maryville and Richard (Leslie) of Palatine; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was an executive secretary at Bankers Life and Casualty for 21 years, retiring in 1982. She received her Associate’s Degree in 1986 from Oakton Community College. She was a member of Park Ridge United Methodist Church. Services will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Ridgewood Cemetery in Des Plaines where the family will receive friends in the chapel one hour before services.
