Troubled Syracuse point guard Billy Edelin did not practice Thursday and will be out indefinitely, coach Jim Boeheim said.

Edelin, a sophomore averaging 13.8 points and 4.2 rebounds, sat out two games before returning for Saturday’s loss at Providence. But he again missed Tuesday’s game against Rutgers.

Boeheim said Wednesday that Edelin’s troubles were “personal issues” and had nothing to do with his role on the team.

Wade pleads innocent

Wisconsin guard Maurice “Boo” Wade pleaded innocent in Dane County (Wis.) Circuit Court to a charge of choking a woman at her apartment.

Player suspended

Charlotte senior guard Demon Brown was suspended for Thursday night’s game against Louisville stemming from his arrest earlier this week.
