In his Feb. 5 letter, Dave Rezutko makes a common error: He assumes that universal health care is socialized medicine. Under a universal plan that could be similar to Medicare (except that coverage would not be limited to the elderly), health-care providers would bill the government, but they would not be working for the government. The more services they provided, the more income. Providers choosing to do less work would receive less money.
What is socialized about that?
