– Fred Adcock, senior vice president of Subaru, says no decision has been made on whether a new seven-passenger sport-utility/van crossover addition to the lineup scheduled for 2006 will be built at the automaker’s Lafayette, Ind., assembly plant. That’s where the carmaker produces the Legacy sedan and Outback sport-utility. “We’re probably moving in that direction, but we’re still developing and designing it and no decision has been made,” he says.
– When Ford Motor Co. begins producing the Five Hundred and Freestyle and Mercury Montego at its Torrence Avenue plant on the South Side this summer, those vehicles earmarked for delivery in Chicago will carry a special decal: “Built in Chicago for Chicago.”
