– General Motors is recalling about 127,000 1997-2004 Chevrolet Corvettes because an electronic steering column lock may fail. The sports car’s lock may not release when the driver starts the engine, causing fuel to stop flowing to the engine.
– General Motors is recalling 636,000 2002-2003 Chevrolet TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT, GMC Envoy and Envoy XL and Oldsmobile Bravada mid-size sport-utility vehicles to inspect and repair possible faulty windshield wiper equipment. Some 2002 Isuzu Ascenders also are involved. Water can enter the wiper module through a small vent hole, causing a short circuit or corrosion of components in the module. The wipers then will not work properly.
General Motors is recalling 1.8 million 1998-2001 Chevrolet Cavalier and Pontiac Sunfire autos and 1998 Pontiac Grand Am, Oldsmobile Achieva and Buick Skylark autos to repair potential problems with the ignition switch that may cause a fire in the steering column. The vehicles will be repaired to prevent high electrical current from flowing through the ignition.
