Under their first union contract, police in West Dundee will get raises of 3.25 percent in the first year, 3.25 in the second year and 3.5 percent in the third year.
The package, approved Monday by the Village Board, affects 16 patrolmen and four sergeants, who unionized a year ago.
Starting pay for a patrol officer will be $40,817, up from $39,532. Top pay for a patrolman, reached after seven years, will be $58,640, up from $56,794. The pay for sergeants increases to $71,759, from $69,500.
Increases are retroactive to May, said Police Chief Edward G. Dennis.
