Florida guard Christian Drejer did not travel with the Gators for their game against Georgia on Tuesday night, amid reports he may leave to play for a professional team in Spain.
Team spokesman Fred Demarest said Drejer was absent because of personal reasons, and that Drejer and Donovan will meet Wednesday.
Drejer, one of the top players in his homeland of Denmark before coming to Florida, considered entering the NBA draft before deciding to play for the Gators.
Gonzaga honors Stockton
Gonzaga will retire John Stockton’s number nearly 20 years after the future Hall of Famer last played for the Bulldogs. Stockton’s No. 12 will be retired at halftime of Wednesday’s game against Portland.
Stockton, who retired last year after 19 NBA seasons, played at Gonzaga from 1980-84. He was the first player in school history to score 1,000 points and have 500 assists.
