This is regarding columnist Dennis Byrne’s “Majority rules: Here’s the way marriage ought to be” (Commentary, Feb. 9).

Byrne worries that same-sex marriages would deprive children in those families of role models representing both sexes.

Personally, if my own daughter ever needed to be adopted, I’d prefer it was by a lesbian couple who would teach her “radical” values such as inclusiveness and tolerance rather than a “normal” family with a male role model like Byrne who would teach her “traditional” values of smug hypocrisy and self-deceiving bigotry.
