May I ask those advocating a White Sox sale just who will buy the club, given all the contentious issues, the Cubs behemoth, media bias, etc.?
Names please? Interested parties?
Demanding that Jerry Reinsdorf sell the team is a simplistic, knee-jerk response that doesn’t amount to a hill of beans. Fact is there is no one in this town who will buy the Sox. And if the team is ever put up for sale (and I don’t think that will happen in the foreseeable future), you can bet that the only interest will come from some desperate city looking to steal a franchise and move it. And that could be in Mexico, Puerto Rico or Canada.
I’ve been down this road before, and all the ranting and raving aside, Reinsdorf might just be the only person standing between the White Sox in Chicago and the White Sox flying the coop.
Think about it.
