A $600,000 federal grant has been awarded to fund a free trolley that will operate between Metra and CTA stations and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago Historical Society and Navy Pier. The trolley is scheduled to run from May 29 through Sept. 6 and at peak holiday times. There will be three routes: One will connect the nature museum, zoo and historical society with the North Michigan Avenue trolley hub at the Water Tower and Navy Pier; one will link the Lincoln Park stops to Michigan Avenue and the Ogilvie Transportation Center and Union Station; and one will include stops at the CTA Brown and Red Line stations in Lincoln Park.
