Washington Capitals owner Ted Leonsis had a special guest in his suite for Monday’s game against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
The owner invited 20-year-old Jason Hammer, who had a highly publicized scuffle with Leonsis.
After a Jan. 25 game, Leonsis was heckled by fans upset with his trade of Jaromir Jagr. Hammer said Leonsis attacked him.
Leonsis was fined $100,000 and suspended for one week by the NHL, and he apologized to the fan. The fan accepted Leonsis’ apology and said he had no plans to pursue legal action.
