Florence Nunchuck, nee Womack, 84, Waukegan, died Saturday, Feb. 21. A native of Big Sandy, VA, she was a former resident of Chicago and Churubusco, IN. In her early years she participated in Mothers March of Dimes, and was active in her children’s school activities. She retired in 1985 as cafeteria director for Smith-Green Community Schools in Churubusco after 22 years, and enjoyed traveling, cooking, quilting, flowers, and Chicago Bulls basketball. Member of Waukegan Church of the Nazarene. Beloved mother of Dr. Mary I. (Donald Scheef) Nunchuck of Waukegan, Dr. Susan (Philip Schumski) Nunchuck of Milwaukee, and Michael Nunchuck Jr. (friend Ann Howard) of Indianapolis; caring sister to James “Woody” (Freda) Womack and John (Donna) Womack, both of Melbourne, FL, Jay D. (Glenda) Womack of Cedarville, OH and Tom (Judy) Womack of Englewood, OH; cherished grandmother of Susan Michelle Scheef of Chicago, and Jessica Schumski and Jeanette Schumski, both of Milwaukee; and dear greatgrandmother to Keelee, Nathaniel, Devyn and Dylan Schumski; Devoted wife of the late Michael Nunchuck; caring sister to the late Jenny Brookhart, Anita Judy Womack, Chester Ray “Jack” Womack and Leo Womack. Resting at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, 206 N. Main St., Churubusco, IN, where funeral will be at 11 a.m. (EST) Saturday. Visitation 4 to 8 p.m. Friday or one hour before funeral. Burial in Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco.
