Though fancy frocks have been ruling the runways and red carpets, it’s the casual, comfy T-shirt that is making waves in retail.
Emblazoned with images of cupcakes, Cha-Chi, The Ramones and vintage Disney characters, ’80s style T-shirts are the garment du jour to spiff up bland winter wear. To get that blase Cameron Diaz chic, simply partner vintage tees with jeans, minis and retro blazers.
Where to get ’em:
– Vintage Disney tees (right) at Tinkled Pink, 1515 N. Sheridan Rd., $70.
– Vintage iron-ons at T-Shirt Deli, 1739 N. Damen Ave., about $35.
– It’s Better in the Bahamas tees (left) at Urban Outfitters, $24.
– Ultra Suede hand-stitched tees (bottom left) by laurel m. at www.laurelm.com, $80.
Tee time: Catch C&C California designers Claire Stansfield and Cheyenne Benedict at Nordstrom on Michigan Avenue from 4 to 7 p.m. on March 5. The Los Angeles-based designers’ ultralight, body-skimming layering tees have become a staple in celebrities’ closets.
