Naperville Central senior forward Candace Parker, who has led the Redhawks to an undefeated record since returning on Dec. 29 from a left ACL injury, is one of two Illinois basketball players named as finalists for the Naismith Prep Basketball Player of the Year award. Parker, who received the award last year, is trying to become the first two-time winner. Peoria Central point guard Shaun Livingston is the boys’ nominee. The winners will be announced April 9 in Atlanta.
