In a country with so many citizens out of work, so many living in poverty, so many living without health care; in a country living under a continued threat of terrorism, still fighting to establish and maintain peace and order in countries across the globe; in a country with a declining educational system for its young and not enough long-term funds to provide its future retirees the benefits that they’ve been promised; in this country, it is simply insane that so many able-bodied lawyers, politicians, activists and others should devote so much of their time and resources to keeping people from getting married.
