This is regarding “Storied Olds rides to extinction” (Page 1, Feb. 18).
As a child, my parents bought nothing but Oldsmobiles.
As a teenager, my first new car was a ’79 Cutlass Supreme.
What a great car.
The second new car that I bought was an ’87 Olds Cutlass Calais. The ad campaign at the time, as the article stated, was this is “not your father’s Oldsmobile.”
They couldn’t have been more correct.
My father’s (and my first) Oldsmobiles were quality cars. This was a piece of junk.
It’s a shame to see them go, but you reap what you sow.
