Robert J. Paul, 65, who owned a hauling business, died of cancer Thursday, Feb. 26, in his Rolling Meadows home. “He really enjoyed handyman projects,” said Dennis Rundlett, Mr. Paul’s son-in-law. Mr. Paul also picked up painting, a hobby shared by his former wife, LeeAnn. “He did some really nice landscapes,” Rundlett said. Born in Chicago, Mr. Paul grew up around Grand and Western Avenues. After graduating from high school, he worked for the Chicago Park District, a trucking company and a grocery warehouse before buying his own truck and starting a hauling business. He also married and started a family, staying on good terms with his former spouse even after their divorce nearly 14 years ago, Rundlett said. Mr. Paul ran Agrutto Cartage for about 20 years from his Arlington Heights home, carrying gravel, stone and waste to and from construction sites. He retired at 50. Other survivors include four daughters, Colleen Jimmo, Cristine Melliere, Nicole Hopkins and Monique Rundlett; two sisters, Marilyn Branscum and Marjorie Sapienza; and nine grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Salerno’s Rosedale Chapel, 450 Lake St., Roselle. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Colette Catholic Church, 3900 Meadow Drive, Rolling Meadows.
