The New Jersey Devils acquired center Viktor Kozlov from the Florida Panthers on Monday for forward Christian Berglund and defenseman Victor Uchevatov.

Kozlov, 29, had 11 goals and 16 assists in 48 games with the Panthers. The Russian has played nine seasons in the NHL with San Jose and Florida. He ranked third in career goals, assists and power-play goals for the Panthers.

Berglund had two goals and three assists in 23 games with Devils this season. Uchevatov had three assists in 52 games with Albany of the AHL.

Sabres’ Patrick ready

Sabres defenseman James Patrick is expected to return to the lineup Wednesday against Ottawa after missing 15 games due to a pinched nerve in his neck.

Flyers’ Ragnarsson out

Marcus Ragnarsson will be out a week to 10 days with an ailing shoulder, another injury to a Flyers defenseman. Ragnarsson joins Eric Desjardins (arm) and Dennis Seidenberg (leg) on the sidelines.
