Catherine Schabel, resident of Mesa, AZ, previously of Chicago, Wheaton and LaSalle, IL. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Daniel Festa and Harry Schabel; her brothers, John and Peter Chisena. She is the loving mother of Conrad Festa (wife, Jean), Charleston, S.C., John Festa (wife, Mary), Mesa, AZ, Patty Szerlong, Itasca, IL, Joe Schabel, Phoenix, AZ, Donna Vilser (husband, Paul), Palatine, IL. She is the grandmother of 20 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren. She is the bereaved friend and honorary grandmother to many. Catherine was a active member of the Trinity Baptist Church of Mesa, retired restaurateur and caterer, and supporter of the Fountain of the Sun Community, Mesa, AZ. Services were held Tuesday, March 2, 2004 in Mountain View Memorial Gardens Mortuary Chapel, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorials to the Hospice of the Valley, 6063 E. Arbor Ave., Bldg. C, Mesa, AZ 85206.
