Walking with a slight limp but no crutches, Jay Williams stopped by the United Center on Monday after giving a basketball clinic at the nearby James Jordan Boys & Girls Club. “They’re killing me in rehabilitation, but I’m seeing progress and that’s good,” Williams said. “The doctors are saying I could be back by late next season.” That notion still could be optimistic, but Williams reported he can jump and touch the net and no longer wears a bulky knee brace. Williams under-goes two sessions of rehab daily in Durham, N.C. A recent trip to Los Angeles for the All-Star Game proved a mixed bag for his emotions. “It was hard to be there,” Williams said. “But it reminded me what I’m working towards.”
