Oh, Canada, you cannot be serious. That’s what will go through many Bears fans heads upon learning the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League want to sign Kordell Stewart. The CFL team put the former Bears quarterback on their negotiation list within days of Stewart getting his official release last week. “As soon as I saw it I put him on, because I figured `Hmm, maybe he won’t get signed in the NFL,'” Blue Bombers general manager Brendan Taman told the Winnipeg Sun. “You never know.” Stewart and his agent, Leigh Steinberg, have maintained that the quarterback believes he still can be an effective starter in the NFL despite a dreadful experience last year with the Bears. So far, Dallas and Denver have shown limited interest in Stewart.
