Helen Dupuis was called to the Lord’s home Sunday, March 7, 2004. She had been a resident at the Birchwood Plaza in Chicago for approximately the past year. Helen was a lifelong resident of Chicago, having been born on Feb. 5, 1919. She was born at home on Springfield Avenue, near Washington Park, and moved to Rogers Park when she was 6 years old. She spent the rest of her life in Rogers Park working while Ralph was in the military during World War II and afterward. She and Ralph were married Nov. 4, 1939 in Evanston and they had met while both worked at Lord’s Department Store in Evanston. She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph; sister Mary; and parents Chrest and Valerie Karzis. She and Ralph had no children. She is survived by brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews. Memorial service Tuesday, March 16, 10 a.m. at N.H. Scott & Hebblethwaite Funeral Home, 1240 Waukegan Rd., Glenview (2 blks. south of Lake Avenue, on west side). Interment private.
