Arthur E. Schimke, 94, formerly of Chicago, IL, died on Sunday, March 7, 2004 at the Chester County Hospital, West Chester, PA. He was the widower of Amalie ‘Mollie’ Schimke, who died in 1999. He was a former member of UAW Local 59 and worked for the Central Metallic Casket Company, Chicago, from 1934-1942 and the Standyne Company, Bellwood, from 1942-1974. Arthur is survived by a daughter, Norma J. Davis of Glen Ellyn, IL; a son, Russell A. Schimke of Downingtown; two sisters Hertha Moritz of Arlington Heights, IL, Emma Landoch of Chicago, IL; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 2, 2004 at Grace Lutheran Church, 493 Forest Ave., Glen Ellyn, IL 60137.
