He’s one of the best rappers in the game, but it looks like 50 Cent has matched his mentor Eminem in a more unfortunate way–as an enemy of the gay community.

The “In Da Club” rapper may have landed himself in hot water after expressing his thoughts on homosexuality to Playboy magazine, mtv.com reports.

“I ain’t into [gay men],” he says in the April issue. “I don’t like gay people around me, because I’m not comfortable with what their thoughts are. I’m not prejudiced. I just don’t go with gay people and kick it–we don’t have that much in common.”

Lesbians, he says, are a different issue. The rapper says in the interview that his mother is bisexual. “Women who like women, that’s cool,” he adds. “We might have more in common.”

Insert foot into mouth.

It doesn’t look like Fifty will back off, either. He explains later in the same interview: “This is as honest as I could possibly be with you. When people become celebrities they change the way they speak. But my conversation with you is exactly the way I would have a conversation on the street. … It could be disrespectful, but that’s the facts.”

Mary, learn the vocabulary

50 Cent may not “go with gay people,” but the culture is more popular than ever. VH1’s “Totally Gayer” suggests the following new words for America’s vocab.

BAG: Born again gay.

SHEBREW: A Jewish lesbian.

STROMO: Gay man who acts straight in response to metrosexuality.

A-GAY: Designer label-wearing wannabe who thinks he’s on the clubbing A-list.

RETROMO: Stuck in the ’80s.
