Roger Wisniewski, 64, RR #1, Box 137F, Rio, IL, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004 in OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, IL. He was born Aug. 28, 1939 in Chicago, the son of Anthony and Bernice Podoginski Wisniewski. He married Colleen McElray in 1986 in Chicago. She survives. Also surviving is a daughter, Paty (Chris) Katsigiannis of Elburn, IL; three grandchildren, George Katsigiannis, Pamela Katsigiannis and Nick Katsigiannis; preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert Nelis; and a daughter, Pamela Wisniewski. He was a truck driver for South Bend Freight Lines for 33 years. He retired in 1990 and moved to the Galesburg/Rio, IL area. He graduated from DeLaSalle High School in Chicago and attended college. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Chicago. He served in the United States Army. Visitation will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. A prayer service will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, conducted by Rev. Joseph Presley. Cremation will be accorded following the visitation. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
