Chicago police seized 825 pounds of suspected marijuana Friday morning in an auto-body shop on the West Side.
Acting on a tip about a large amount of drugs being moved into the city, police obtained a search warrant for an auto-body shop at 1334 N. Kostner Ave. and raided the shop about 8 a.m. Friday, police spokesman David Bayless said.
They found the marijuana bundled in so many layers of shrink-wrapped plastic that the odor of marijuana was “rendered almost undetectable,” Bayless said.
Police arrested the shop’s owner, Carlos Rivera, 27.
