Apparently, Rob Schneider’s work in “The Hot Chick” wasn’t enough to get him accepted into the Academy of the Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ acting wing.
According to E! Online, the actor is upset because of a rejection letter that said the academy would consider him once he had “turned in a strong performance, comic or otherwise.”
But Schneider isn’t at home crying. He’s out to prove to the acting wing–which includes former co-stars Tom Hanks and Kathy Bates–that he’s a top-notch performer.
Schneider told the academy, “thanks for the encouragement. I’ll try my best to turn in a strong performance, comic or otherwise, very soon.”
He’ll have his chance with his next flick, “Deuce Bigelow: European Gigolo,” although it’s unclear whether that film will fall into the “comedic” or “otherwise” category.
