Given the attention garnered by DJ Danger Mouse’s “The Grey Album,” other imitators were bound to crop up.
First there was Cheap Cologne’s “The Double Black Album,” pairing Jay-Z’s album with Metallica’s 1991 album. The latest is “The Black and Blue Album,” compiled by a guy named Mike (Jay-Z plus Weezer’s self-titled debut, a.k.a. “The Blue Album”).
The suddenly useful Jay-Z Construction Kit (www.jayzconstructionset.com) lets music lovers make their own Frankenstein creations out of Jay-Z’s supposed final album. RedEye suggestions for other combos:
– “The None More Black Album” (with Spinal Tap).
– “The Black and White Striped Album” (with the White Stripes).
– “The Black and Tan Album” (with Frank Zappa’s “Studio Tan”).
