Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

If you drove by the YMCA baseball field at North and Clybourn avenues this week, you saw crews shooting a TV pilot about a fictional youth baseball team

“Windy Field” is a 30-minute pilot about a group of former youth baseball players who reunite as adults at the funeral of their old coach, then learn that they have inherited the field where they used to play. An all-Chicago cast stars in the show and should finish filming by late spring.

TV pilots have no guarantee to be picked up by any network, but “Windy” producer Diana Romero of I-Media Entertainment says the production company will produce about 5,000 DVDs and distribute them outside Chicago baseball stadiums on game days to generate interest. Romero said several product placement deals have helped fund the initial production.
