Phyllis J. Sinal, age 77, of Hobart, IN, formerly of Whiting, IN, passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2004. She was a former owner of Golden Crown Gifts in Crown Point from 1979 to 1995. She was active with the Sacred Heart Church and School Fund Raisers and the St. Bridget Church Carnival and July 4th Celebrations. Phyllis was born in Whiting and was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Josephine Kinnane; brothers, Jim, George and Robert; and sister, Florence. She is survived by her husband, Ted Sinal, employed by Smith Barney in Chicago and previous owner of Hoosier Drugs (where they were employed and later purchased the drug store); children, daughter, Mary Jo Sinal of Hobart and two sons, Theodore “Ted” Sinal (wife, Ann) of Crown Point, IN and Timothy “Tim” Sinal of Chicago; her two precious angels, twin grandchildren, Teddy and Terese; sisters-in-law, Irene Kinnane and Jane Sinal Lathrop; brother-in-law, Paul (Virginia) Sinal of Whiting; nephews, Joe (Marianne) Matlon of St. John, IN, Jim (Lynn) Kinnane of California, Dennis Kinnane of California and Tom Kinnane of Hawaii; nieces, Cindy (Tim) Balko, Anita Jo (Roy) Moffitt, Sheila (Scott) Crane and Linda Kinnane; great-nieces, nephews and families, Detmars, Matlons, Kinnanes, Johnsons, Hambrights, Millers, Gonzalezes, Reagins, Balkos, Moffitts, Cranes, Weisers, Flemings, Sabols, Sinals, Simes and Wilkins. Funeral Services Friday, March 19, 2004, 9 a.m. at The Burns Funeral Home, 10101 Broadway, Crown Point, IN, to St. Bridget Church, Hobart, IN, for Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., Rev. Dominic Bertino and Rev. John Strebig concelebrating. Interment St. John Cemetery, Hammond. Friends may meet with the family on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Burns Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
