Bruce A. Borck, March 10, 1945 to March 17, 2004. Bruce was the beloved husband of 32 years to Joanne, nee Sunko; loving father of Alissa and Colin; and his faithful pets. He is also survived by his brother, David (Ruth) Borck; mother and father-in-law, Isabelle and Stanley Sunko of Bensenville, IL; sisters-in-law, Gail (Jim) Sunko-Raynolds of Minnesota and Patti (Peter) Sunko-Imhof of Virginia; and uncle to many loving nieces and nephews from around the country. He is preceded in death by his parents, Phyllis and Charles Borck; and his beloved dog, Luca. Bruce was a 1963 graduate of Luther North High School. He worked as a lithographer in the printing trade until he retired in 2002. Bruce was an avid reader and loved to read historical and factual books. Bruce was very involved in the lives of his two children. He coached T-ball and softball, attended and videotaped musical concerts throughout elementary, high school and college. Bruce was also a master on the computer in restoring photographs and creative designs. Besides his great love for his family, Bruce’s passion was the drum and bugle corps. As a young man, Bruce marched with the Norwood Park Imperials, playing baritone bugle. He was a soloist and won the 1965 American Legion National Bugle Championship. Bruce renewed his involvement in the drum corps when his son, Colin, marched with the Phantom Regiment. Bruce’s fondest wish was to have marched with the Royal Airs Reunion Corps 2002. He was one of the corps biggest fans and created a flag bearing the logos of over 55 corps. Bruce will be sorely missed by everyone that knew him. We will love and miss you forever.
