Mary Finlen, nee Pietrowicz, Byrnes, age 101, of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, formerly of Evanston, IL, died March 17, 2004. Loving wife of the late William Jerome Byrnes and the late James Finlen; devoted mother of W. Jerome Byrnes, Jr., and Stephanie (Jack) Flynn; cherished grandmother of Kate (John) Conerty, Stephanie (Vince) Hansen, Michael (Terri) Flynn, Mary (Carl) Salerno and Diane (Jim) Krecek; dearest great-grandmother of 14; and loving sister of the late Frank, Ambrose and Stephen Pietrowicz. Mrs. Finlen graduated from the first class at Barat College, Lake Forest, IL. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 2000 S.E. 25th Ave., Fort Lauderdale, on Monday, March 22, 2004, at 11 a.m. Visitation at the church from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 24, 11 a.m., at St. Luke Church in River Forest, IL.
