In your March 19 editorial on Congress starting to wise up on the deficit and the need to find spending cuts (“Pay [and cut taxes] as you go”), you noted the Senate has in its bill a provision requiring 60 votes for any new tax cut. That’s a nice start. Now I’d like to see the Senate require 60 votes for any new tax increase also. I’m not holding my breath for that one. I can understand senators wanting to make it harder to give my money back, but I’m smart enough to know they won’t make it harder to take it.
