Coach Lindy Ruff and general manager Darcy Regier will return to the Buffalo Sabres next season.
Sabres managing partner Larry Quinn made the announcement Friday.
While Ruff and Regier are both under contract for next season, their status was uncertain after Quinn said changes would be considered if the Sabres failed to make the playoffs. .
Quinn said he is impressed with how the team has competed going 22-14-3-3 since Christmas.
No charges for Hasek
Detroit Red Wings goaltender Dominik Hasek will not face criminal charges for injuring a player during an amateur inline game.
Hasek’s case should be treated as a misdemeanor punishable with a fine up to $111, said the county prosecutor in the goalie’s hometown of Pardubice, Czech Republic. During the amateur game in May, Hasek collided with a man who then was hospitalized for three days.

Jay McKee and Chris Drury scored in a 1-minute span in 2nd period. Sabres goalie Martin Biron made 24 saves in winning for 4th straight time.
Los Angeles 1 at Edmonton 3
Petr Nedved scored 300th career goal to help Oilers. Edmonton has earned at least a point in 15 consecutive games and hasn’t had a regulation loss since Feb. 25 in Anaheim.
San Jose 3 at Phoenix 0
Vesa Toskala had 30 saves for 1st shutout in nearly a year. With 98 pts, San Jose is 1 point shy of franchise record. Phoenix goalie Brian Boucher hasn’t won in 13 starts (0-10-3).
