I find it amusing that Richard Clarke spent all those years in the White House neglecting the fight against terrorism and he has the nerve to question a president who has done more to combat terror than any leader in our nation’s history.

Clarke stood by and failed to act when Osama bin Laden bombed the World Trade Center the first time, so why wouldn’t Al Qaeda try it again? Well, they did, and they killed nearly 3,000 people because we had allowed the original attack to go unpunished. Clarke also did nothing when the U.S. Embassies were bombed as well as the USS Cole. Not to mention, there were several opportunities during the Clinton administration to assassinate or capture bin Laden and that administration refused or failed to do so.

Why is it that the only ex-Cabinet members and former White House advisers who lob accusations at Bush either lost their jobs or have a book to sell?
