In the beginning, the state of Illinois had 60 former high school players competing on the 64 teams in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. Here’s a look at the four remaining names and their tournament performances so far.

Oklahoma State’s Tony Allen (Crane H.S.)

Averaging 16.1 points a game during the season, the senior guard is the biggest name left. In the tournament, Allen has been a workhorse scoring 12 points against St. Joseph’s, 23 points against Pittsburgh, 11 points against Memphis, and 17 points against Eastern Washington.

Georgia Tech’s Will Bynum (Crane H.S.)

The junior guard has added some scoring punch off the bench, with 11 points in the Yellow Jackets’ opener against Northern Iowa. Since then Bynum has appeared against Boston College (0 points), Nevada (9 points) and Kansas (8 points).

Duke’s Sean Dockery (Julian H.S.)

In runaways against Alcorn State and Seton Hall, the sophomore guard logged 20 and 17 minutes respectively, and he made all three shots against Seton Hall. This weekend, Dockery played nine minutes against Illinois and had no points and one assist against Xavier.

UConn’s Marcus White (Whitney Young H.S.)

The sophomore forward saw little action this season and has yet to get into a NCAA tournament game.
