Elvis Costello inked a two-book deal with Simon & Schuster. The first book, set for 2005, will be a narrative inspired by themes and characters from his lyrics. The second, a “work of comic philosophy,” is called “How to Play the Guitar, Sing Loudly and Impress Girls … or Boys.”
