America’s jaws dropped Wednesday night when the wishes of the “American Idol” fans were read.
After a shaky performance that even Simon Cowell called “abysmal,” John Stevens, the Gingerhead Man, escaped elimination–and wasn’t even threatened.
Not so for Chicago’s Jennifer Hudson (her second walk down the plank), Amy Adams and–shocker of shockers–La Toya London, an early favorite. The trio drew the fewest votes cast after Tuesday’s sing-off. In the end, it was the end for Adams, whose song choice was “Dancing in the Street.” How appropriate.
Oddly enough, her dismissal was foretold in a teaser for Ryan Seacrest’s talk show that aired during the last commercial break. The promo touted that Seacrest would chat with the latest contestant to get booted and showed a picture of Adams–just minutes before the official announcement was made at the end of the show.
