The first month of the city’s parking ticket payment program netted $4.8 million in paid tickets and another $6.4 million committed for payment over the next year.
During March, 9,068 motorists who owed the city at least $500 in unpaid parking fines signed up for the program that allows debtors to spread out their payments over 12 months, Revenue Department spokeswoman Annette Martinez said Thursday.
The program runs through March 31, 2005. Motorists whose car has not yet been immobilized may enter the program and get off the boot list, according to Martinez.
