The East Aurora Board of Education and the East Aurora Councilof the Illinois Federation of Teachers Local 604 on Monday approved a three-year agreement on teachers and support personnel.
Neither the school board president nor the president of the teachers council gave specifics of the contract. Teachers and staff will receive salary increases based on length of service and the level of education they have attained.
“Teachers agreed they wanted to put more money into certain parts of the contract to attract and retain teachers,” said Mary Dudzienski, president of the East Aurora Council.
Cost to the district will increase by 4.6 percent for 2004-05; 4.8 percent for 2005-06; and 4.8 percent for 2006-07, according to School Board President Larry Malaker.
