Slashing prices, suing downloaders, crying over poor sales. … Will the music industry’s game of cat-and-mouse with consumers ever end?

Apparently not. Universal Music Group, who surprised many just months ago by slashing the suggested retail prices of their CDs from $18.98 to $12.98, is raising the price to $13.98.

Universal expected other industry leaders to follow suit and merchants to pass along the savings to consumers, but the company claims most merchants just pocketed the difference.
