I choked on my morning coffee over Rick Morrissey’s April 30 cheerleading column. His narrow definition of “sport” matches his narrow mind.
God bless cheerleaders for taking a sexist display and elevating it into a sport that actually has some athletics in it. Is Morrissey’s memory so short that he forgets the types of sports available to females just a short time ago? My daughter is a 12-year-old softball pitcher who throws 50 m.p.h. and sometimes wears makeup and body glitter. Shame on Morrissey.
