Share your passwords too. Family communication surrounding end-of-life plans must go beyond paper these days. Along with wills, insurance policies, banking and other details, we now advise clients to reveal the ultimate secret: computer passwords. For online banking, investment accounts, e-mail and accessing files on home computers or portable devices, family members need account holder passwords to access needed information during this transition. Keep it safe, but share it with a trusted person.
