Like letter writer Barbara Q. Watson, I, too, have fond memories of May baskets (“May memory,” Voice of the people, May 1).

I moved to Chicago in 1940 at the age of 8 from Danforth, Ill. Not one person in all the years since has known what I was talking about when I mentioned May baskets.

Advantage Danforth.

It is a delightful custom and I wish young people today could enjoy it.
