How much money do you usually spend on movies each month?

–Michelle Lee, 15, South Loop, student

–Domingue Toole, 30

…OR BANK IT
Save some dough by seeing the latest flick at the Village North Movie Theater near Loyola, which guarantees the lowest first-run movie prices in the city. Films that start before 6 p.m. are $4.50, and ones that start after that time are $6.50. Also, the Century 12 Evanston offers a discount for students who show a valid school ID. Students pay $7.50 Sunday through Thursday.
Once you’ve saved a few dollars, drive out to the AMC Yorktown Premium in Lombard and splurge on its dining theater. Sink into the theater’s high-back leather chairs and watch the selected movie of the week as the waitstaff brings you drinks and a full-course meal to your table next to your seat. $15.50 gets you in the door, coat check and all the popcorn you can eat. Anything from the fully stocked bar or bistro costs about the same as at a restaurant.
