Glavine is back to being an ace again. He one-hit the Rockies, allowing only a double to Kit Pellow in the eighth inning while striking out eight. Glavine improves to 6-2 on the season with a 2.13 ERA.
Big stick
Vladimir Guerrero, Angels
The Sox bats erupted again Sunday, this time against Minnesota. But over on the West Coast, Guerrero put on a hitting show of his own, going 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two driven in.
Cold streak
Barry Bonds, Giants
Injuries and pitchers have caught up to the San Francisco slugger, who has no home runs and one measly RBI in the entire month of May. Still, he’s only three home runs off the major-league lead (13).
Cold streak II
Carlos Beltran, Royals
Oakland pitching has not been kind to Kansas City’s star center-fielder. Beltran went 1-for-14 in three straight losses this weekend and saw his batting average dip to .265.
