I agree with Rick Morrissey, but we must remember that Corey Patterson, while very talented, is still a young ballplayer. The fans, as well as Patterson himself, need to be patient.
His self-image is really not important. Whether he bats 3-4-5 or 1-2, he will never reach his potential unless he learns to take a walk. All the great hitters walk a lot, without exception.
Be patient with Patterson; he’ll figure it out eventually. He’ll learn to take a walk.
