The headline “It’s June–bring a jacket; Skip the sunscreen, pack a parka as summer faces a shivery start” (Page 1, June 3) makes the unfortunate suggestion that sunscreen is not needed when it is cold. The sun’s rays are as strong now as they will be in mid-July. Since the damage to skin is cumulative, it is always wise to apply sunscreen.
