– Briggs & Stratton is making its first electric outboard motor. It is powered by four 12-volt marine batteries and can push a boat up to 12 m.p.h. While trolling, the electric outboard can run about eight hours on a battery charge, the company says. At cruising speeds, battery life is roughly two hours.
