I believe that once a human egg has been fertilized, a human life has begun.
The same goes for a bird egg, a turtle egg, etc.
Maybe the letter writer should ask himself this question:
Why don’t birds, reptiles or any living creatures, excluding humans, try to destroy their offspring?
Maybe we humans have “evolved” too much for our own good.
